"LOVE IS TOM FOOLERY."

I speak as a fool.
I don't like what I see.
What is this power come over me?
There is much fear
of both feeling and not.
I simply can't fight it,
it is much mightier than I.
So I continue to speak
with my foot in my mouth.
Please tell my heart to shut up
with all this dribble.
Let my spirit take heed of all this Tom Foolery.
As my words may play upon
deaf ears,
and it is with this knowledge
that I may cry tears.
For if love would be kind,
and show me a sign
of what was to be.
I needn't bother with all thisTom Foolery!
For I may speak dribble and feel all this alone.
He may not feel my heart,
his may be of stone.
He may pierce my very soul
with the utterance of:
"Just leave me alone!"
And if this were to happen
then what shall I do?
I shall walk away heavy
with the heart of a fool.
And then with my mouth
I would spit out my shoe!
